De Tomaso Pantera – The Italian-American Wildcat

A blend of Italian design and American muscle, the De Tomaso Pantera is one of the most raw and charismatic supercars of the 1970s. Designed by Ghia and powered by a Ford 5.8L Cleveland V8, it unleashed 330 hp and 461 Nm of torque, sending its power to the rear wheels through a 5-speed ZF manual gearbox. This setup enabled a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h—exceptional for its time.

The Pantera was as aggressive as it was beautiful, with its low-slung wedge shape, pop-up headlights, and wide stance. Unlike Ferrari and Lamborghini, it combined Italian exotica with American reliability, making it easier to maintain. Even Elvis Presley owned one, famously shooting it when it failed to start!
